Why do I need to be saved?
The Bible tells us that every person has sinned (Romans 3:23). This is why God sent his only Son to atone people's transgressions and save their corrupted souls.
Jesus died on the cross for all people. This is also told in the ”Gospel in a Nutshell”: ”that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
No one can be accepted to the Kingdom of Heaven without accepting the atonement, because sin cannot enter Heaven.
How can I be saved?
How do I become a Christian? When we believe in Jesus' atonement on the cross, be can simply pray God to forgive our sins and ask Jesus to become the Lord of our lives.
This is how you are born again – in other words, you become a Christian. God expects repentance from those who want to become Christians – this means that they are willing to embrace a change in their lives and to walk according to God's will. God has promised to give them power to do this. ”Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12). The power God gives us helps us to let go of our sinful habits.
Why does God allow so much evil?
The Bible says that God created man in his own image.
In the gospels, Jesus tells that God is good and perfect (Matthew 5:48, Mark 10:18). John says God is love (1. John 4:18). In many ways, we, people, are good. To be completely honest, however, you have to admit there is also a lot of evil, hatred and lovelessness in us – the kind of things God did not intend for us.
Originally, God created us to be like him, good and perfect: after creating the world He looked at everything he had created and concluded that it was very good. Satan, however, tempted man to rebel against God's good and perfect will, and God's image in man was corrupted. There was a breakdown in the close and trusting relationsship that had once connected God with humankind, and the evil found its way into the world.
